Life - and jobs - after the Professional Writing program.

I interviewed graduates of the Professional Writing program with the hopes of providing inspiration to students currently enrolled in the course, and aspiring young writers in general. The people I interviewed were glad to share their tales with me. If writing is your true passion, perhaps these success stories will help keep you on the right track and deter you from giving up on your dreams.

William Cousins

William Cousins is a Professional Writing student at Algonquin College, living in Ottawa, Ontario. Writing is his passion. He believes in the power of the written word, and aspires to perfect his craft in order to create great works of art. From movies, to song lyrics, to video games, he is locked in a constant quest for the perfect story.

Algonquin’s School of Media and Design offers a two-year program in Professional Writing, designed for people who have an aptitude and passion for writing and a willingness to practise their craft in a variety of media. This is the online portion of that media training. Graduates will possess exemplary writing skills for both print media and electronic platforms, and this is their practice ground.
