Editor's note

Have you ever been wordstruck? So caught up in the beauty of a word or a turn of phrase that you have to pause and read it over once or twice, just to savour the rhythm, or the idea behind it? The writers I turn to again and again are the ones who provoke that feeling of wonder.  I was often wordstruck as we put together this magazine, and I think you’ll feel that way as you read through the articles, stories, and essays in each section.

The words you’ll find in these pages will inspire laughter and contemplation. They’ll offer new perspectives and whisk you off on fantastic journeys. I hope you’ll find that spark of imagination as you read, and maybe you’ll walk away from our magazine prepared to do some writing yourself. Words inspire more words. That’s the incredible alchemy of the writer’s craft. That’s what it means to be Wordstruck.
